CGIS South, Room S050, 1730 Cambridge Street, Harvard University Thu., May 2, 2013, 12:15 – 1:45 p.m. Zhou Zhixing, a publisher and a distinguished political commentator, is the founder, president, and editor-in-chief of both Leaders (领导者) and Financial Digest (财经文摘), two increasingly prominent journals in China today. He is also the founder of Consensus Net (共识网), a digital platform for political debate within China. His family salon, the most influential of its kind in Beijing, includes annual participation by over 2,000 renowned officials, business people, and scholars representing China’s entire contemporary political spectrum. Zhou was one of the key creators of the landmark documentary Deng Xiaoping《 邓小平》co-produced by the Central Party Literature Research Office (中共中央文献研究室) and China Central Television (CCTV, 中央电视台). He served as executive editor of the book My Father Deng Xiaoping《我的父亲邓小平》 by Deng Rong, the youngest daughter of Deng Xiaoping.
