Bruins Prospects Roundup: Providence Secures Its Best Month in 3-Plus Years

With Friday night’s 4-2 road win over the Adirondack Phantoms, the Providence Bruins are guaranteed their highest winning percentage in a single month under Bruce Cassidy this December. Regardless of the outcome of Saturday’s visit to Worcester, the worst the P-Bruins can finish this month is 8-3-1. That would amount to a winning percentage of .708, a few ice chips above the .700 mark they attained via a 6-2-2 finish to January 2012 in the middle of Cassidy’s first season as head coach. A regulation tie with the Sharks would mean finishing December at 8-2-2 for a .750 success rate, while a win would equal a .791 winning percentage. In relatively recent memory, the only months that will rival or exceed December 2012 for the Baby Bs are February 2009, when they went 9-2-2 (.769), and December 2007, when a 13-2-0 transcript translated to an .867 winning percentage.
