Comics-And-Journalism Magazine For iPad Launches

Symbolia is a new iPad-only bimonthly magazine that marries journalism to graphic novel-style storytelling. The newest contestant in the dedicated-iPad-format journalism game is startup Symbolia, launched this weekend by Erin Polgreen of The Media Consortium and designer Joyce Rice. Published on a bi-monthly basis, the iPad magazine's first issue includes pieces on the Salton Sea, Kurdistan, the history of Zambian psychadelic rock, and the "millions of microflaura in our guts." Symbolia's launch comes shortly after News Corp. announced that The Daily would cease publication on December 15.Read Full Story
