Donaldson: Amendola "doubtful" is an understatement

By Jim Donaldson Danny Amendola is a good player, on those rare occasions when he's healthy enough to play. He's been in New England for three games and is about to sit out his second one. Of his team's last 35 games, counting this Sunday's encounter with the 0-2 Bucs of Tampa Bay, the former Rams receiver -- who was signed this year by Bill Belichick as a free agent to replace Wes Welker -- will have played in just 13. Welker, in five seasons with the Patriots, missed a total of three regular-season games, despite taking some hits that left everyone watching wondering if he'd be able to get up.
