Giants win streak ends at hands of Kershaw

Kershaw held the Giants to three singles in seven shutout innings and struck out five. Matt Moore gets the first crack and changing that when he pitches the opener of a three-game series in St. Louis on Friday night. The Giants then play four at Wrigley Field, where Cubs fans are in a panic of the World Series champs' 19-19 start. Four scored on a pair of two-out, two-strike hits, a Yasmani Grandal double in the first inning and Yasiel Puig single in the sixth Grandal doubled on an 0-2 pitch that was so low, Buster Posey went into wild-pitch blocking mode before the Dodgers catcher made contact. Cueto's first pitch to Grandal in the third inning was so high and tight it got past Posey for a wild pitch that scored Chase Utley, who started the inning with a single that should not have been. Kershaw has fared better against the Giants at AT&T Park than he has at Chavez Ravine, and Pence was on the disabled list Wednesday for the rematch. Manager Bruce Bochy threw every right-handed hitter he had at Kershaw, except for Nick Hundley, who hit a pinch single in the sixth and stayed in the game to catch.
