March continues as a winter wild card for the Shenandoah Valley

Jerry Stenger, director of the state climatology office at the University of Virginia, said he believes the Shenandoah Valley snowfall will be on the high end of the range, meaning it could be 6 inches or more. If there is a silver lining to the storm, it is that the precipitation is badly needed. Stenger said February was a dry and warm month, and said there are a lot of concerns about the lack of rainfall as the growing season starts.
