The bosses of one New Jersey emergency room technician probably would have understood if she missed her shift the day after Hurricane Sandy struck. But she was so determined to make it in that she swam part of the way to work."Can’t' isn’t in my vocabulary, so I knew I was going to make it," Marsha Hedgepeth told NBC News. Hedgepeth had a 3 p.m. shift at Community Medical Center on October 30, the day after Hurricane Sandy left her neighborhood in Toms River, N.J. dark and flooded, NBC New York reported.
