Michigan Basketball: Nik Stauskas Hits 46 Straight 3-Pointers in the Rain

Michigan basketball got great news when both Mitch McGary and Glenn Robinson III decided to return for their sophomore seasons.Lost among this developing story was the fact that freshman star Nik Stauskas will also return to Ann Arbor.Stauskas, who averaged 11 points per game on 44 percent shooting from beyond the arc, was instrumental in Michigan's run to the NCAA championship game.  The Canadian sharpshooter is far and away one of the best three-point bombers in the country, and he proved that in a recent video that has gone viral in the college basketball community. In the video, Stauskas hits 46 consecutive three-point baskets. As if this feat was not impressive enough, the returning sophomore did so in a windy, rainy driveway. The purpose of the video was to document Stauskas completing one of Michigan head coach John Beilein's favorite drills, the five-minute shooting drill.  The purpose is simply to see how many shots a player can get to fall.In that time period, Stauskas buried a remarkable 70-of-76 from beyond the arc.  After a while, the misses become more surprising than the equally remarkable streaks of made shots he puts together. With the departure of Wooden Award recipient Trey Burke, Stauskas will likely be asked to carry a greater amount of the offensive load. After an offseason to continue working on his game, look for Stauskas to take his outdoor shooting prowess to a new level in the Crisler Center.Read more College Basketball news on Blea...
