Mid-Day Market Update: CAI International Gains On Strong Results; Adamis Pharmaceuticals Shares Slide

Midway through trading Friday, the Dow traded down 0.04 percent to 20,570.44 while the NASDAQ declined 0.14 percent to 5,908.32. The S&P also fell, dropping 0.19 percent to 2,351.31. Leading and Lagging Sectors On Friday, the utilities sector proved to be a source of strength for the market. Leading the sector was strength from Middlesex Water Company (NASDAQ: MSEX) and RGC Resources Inc. (NASDAQ: RGCO). In trading on Friday, energy shares fell by 0.49 percent. Meanwhile, top losers in the sector included CARBO Ceramics Inc. (NYSE: CRR), down 6 percent, and W&T Offshore, Inc. (NYSE: WTI), down 5 percent. Top Headline General Electric Company (NYSE: GE) reported better-than-expected earnings for its first quarter on Friday.
