Moores Invited To Atlanta Falcons Rookie Camp

Ryan Moores, an All-NESCAC performer as well as a first-team All-American, has agreed to contract terms with the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League. He will travel to Atlanta later this week for a three-day rookie mini-camp where all the Falcons’ 2013 draft picks and selected college free agents will compete for a spot on Atlanta’s pre-season roster. Moores, one of the captains of the record-setting 7-1 Middlebury football team, is a three-time All-NESCAC pick as an offensive lineman. He was a second team All-East pick by in 2011 before earning first-team All-East and All-American nods this past season. Moores spearheaded an offensive line that allowed the team to rewrite NESCAC and school records for passing. Although Moores didn’t run with or catch the ball, he along with his linemates, shored up the trenches, leading the nation in fewest tackles for losses allowed (2.63/game), as the unit allowed five sacks in over 400 passing attempts. The 6-6, 315 pound player stood out from his teammates and opponents in the NESCAC, but in the NFL, he is considered the ideal size. “I will definitely no longer be the biggest guy in the room,” remarked Moores a day after his Atlanta decision. “Several NFL scouts met me over the past year and must have liked what they saw.” Numerous teams across the NFL contacted Moores, his agent and his coaches at Middlebury over the past several months to learn about Middlebury’s big man on camp...
