Residential Building Sector Improvement Continues in December 2012

Residential building permits and construction completions in December 2012 continues to show the industry rebound, however the data was a little weaker this month than the previous two months.
Our analysis is worse than the headline data as the BLS must average this noisy series - and we are looking at the raw data.
The rate of growth in 2012 of this sector has been in a channel between 25% and 40%. This month the year-over-year growth was about average for 2012. The takeaway is that growth is steady.
