Richmond Fed Manufacturing Composite: A Welcome Improvement

Nov 27, 2012 Doug Short In the past I haven't routinely followed the regional manufacturing indexes, but I posted my first-ever snapshot of the Richmond Fed composite in July. This particular Fed region represents Virginia, Maryland, the Carolinas, the District of Columbia and most of West Virginia. Since I hale from the Carolinas, it seems natural that I should pay attention. Today the manufacturing composite rose into expansion territory at 9, which is a welcome rebound from -7 last month.More...
