Strong start for ABQ holiday shopping

The holiday shopping season got off to a robust start in Albuquerque over the four-day Thanksgiving weekend with Coronado Center, the state’s largest shopping center, reporting a nearly 10 percent sales increase from 2011.
Nationally, consumers spent $59.1 billion over the weekend, a 13 percent increase over last year, according to the National Retail Federation.
