Warriors’ Pachulia defends play that Leonard got injured on

Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard didn’t return after heading to the locker room in the third quarter with a left ankle injury. A replay showed Pachulia, the Warriors’ starting center, sliding his feet underneath Leonard just as he was coming down on a corner jumper. Leonard re-injured himself only three days after he missed Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals with a sprained left ankle. Asked during his postgame media availability Sunday for his take on the sequence with Pachulia, he had yet to watch the video. Warriors forward Andre Iguodala was limited in Sunday’s Game 1 win over the Spurs with left knee soreness, a team spokesman said. Iguodala sat out the entire second half after acting head coach Mike Brown noticed that he was “a little hobbled.” After averaging more than 28 minutes over Golden State’s first eight playoff games, Iguodala had two points and one assist in 10 minutes Sunday. Iguodala will get an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of his injury, per the Bay Area News Group.
