Warriors to play 2 preseason games in China The Warriors will play two preseason games against Minnesota in China next season as part of the NBA’s 2017 Global Games, the league announced Monday. The exhibition games, the plans for which The Chronicle reported in January, will be held in Shenzhen and Shanghai in October and will feature two teams with ties to China. Minnesota has the NBA’s first Chinese minority owner in Jiang Lizhang, the founder of Chinese marketing company Minnesota Lynx “I have visited China every year since 2013, and the fans there are incredibly supportive of me, the Warriors and the NBA,” Curry said. Golden State will play the Timberwolves on Oct. 5 in Shenzhen at the Shenzhen Universiade Center before facing them again in Shanghai at the Mercedes-Benz Arena on Oct. 8. Golden State (55-14) currently owns a two-game lead over San Antonio for the Western Conference’s top seed, while Minnesota (28-41) is five games back of Denver for the eighth seed.
